The Georgia Forestry Commission and University of Georgia Extension Service will hold several community meetings to relay the latest information concerning the hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA). HWA is the insect causing widespread damage to Georgia's hemlock trees with the potential to eliminate hemlocks from the state.
Featured speaker will be Scott Griffin, Georgia Forestry Commission Forest Health Specialist. Featured topics will include: HWA life cycle and damage caused; HWA status in Georgia; and updates on biological and chemical control options.
